Data Notes

GameDiscoverCo data is designed for market research and directional analysis. Use it to compare games, evaluate trends, and form hypotheses, not as audited financial reporting.

Estimates

Revenue, sales, player counts, active users, and similar metrics are estimates based on multiple data sources. Treat them as directional rather than exact actuals.

Platform Coverage

The MCP server covers Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. Steam has the richest metadata, including reviews, wishlists, concurrent users, tags, followers, price history, and review-language data.

Freshness

Most market metrics update daily. Concurrent user data updates more frequently, and historical CCU data can be hourly depending on the metric and availability.

Identifiers

  • appid is Steam's game identifier.
  • gdcoId is GameDiscoverCo's unified identifier for a game across supported platforms.

If a cross-platform query returns no data, first search for the game with search_games so the assistant can identify the correct gdcoId.

Availability

Very small games, newly announced titles, unreleased titles, or games without enough public signal may have limited data. Some metrics are Steam-only, while others are cross-platform.
