Troubleshooting
Client Cannot Connect
Confirm the MCP server URL is exactly:
https://api.gamediscover.co/mcp
If you copied the URL with extra spaces or a trailing path after /mcp, remove
the extra characters and try again.
Authentication Failed Or Login Loops
- Confirm your GameDiscoverCo account has MCP access enabled.
- Remove and re-add the MCP server in your MCP client.
- Clear browser cookies for
gamediscover.co, then retry the login flow.
Login Works But Tools Are Missing
Your GameDiscoverCo account may not have MCP access enabled. Email contact@gamediscover.co.
OAuth Cache Or CLI Login Is Stuck
For local clients using mcp-remote, stale cached credentials can cause repeat
login failures. Clear the local MCP auth cache, then reconnect:
rm -rf ~/.mcp-auth
If the problem continues, make sure your local Node.js version is current enough for the MCP client you are using.
Client Asks You To Sign In Again
Access tokens expire after 60 days. Reconnect the GameDiscoverCo MCP server and complete the login flow again.
Unknown Tool Errors
AI assistants may occasionally refer to a tool name that does not exist. Ask:
What tools are available from GameDiscoverCo?
Then continue with a natural-language question.
No Data Returned For A Game
- The game may not be in the GameDiscoverCo database.
- Try searching by Steam App ID instead of name for Steam-specific questions.
- For cross-platform questions, ask the assistant to search with
search_gamesfirst so it can find the correct GDCo ID.
Answers Look Too General
Ask your assistant to use GameDiscoverCo data explicitly:
Using GameDiscoverCo data, compare Vampire Survivors and Brotato.
For broad questions, an assistant may combine GameDiscoverCo data with its general knowledge. For source-specific analysis, ask for the GameDiscoverCo evidence used in the answer.
